Description: This Washington Large Fire dataset represents large fires in Washington State typically over 100 acres, but smaller perimeters have been included when data is available. The purpose of this data is to provide consistent spatial data throughout Washington for management, planning or analysis involving fire history. Fire perimeter polygons represent final fire perimeters provided by jurisdictional agency, local agencies or Incident Management Teams assigned to the fire. Data sources include: NWCC, WA DNR, NIFC FTP Site, National Incident Feature Service, USGS GeoMac.

Description: In 1977 Congress amended the Clean Air act to include provisions to protect vistas in certain Class I federal areas. In 1979 the Environmental Protection Agency, in consultation with the Secretary of the Interior, promulgated a list of 156 mandatory Class I federal areas. Eight mandatory Class I federal areas are located in Washington. This abbreviated version of NDMPL is for five wilderness areas and three national parks and is used as boundaries for Class-1 Air pollution control areas by the Washington State Dept. of Ecology Air Program.
