Description: Source data was used for analysis in Scientific Assessment of the Interior Columbia Basin Ecosystem Management Project (ICBEMP). This is a copy of the data and is used in Washington Department of Natural Resources (WADNR) fire protection and planning web applications.
The source data were intended for use at the broad-scale, generally the regional, subbasin (4th field HUC), or possibly the subwatershed (6th field HUC) level.

Description: The Geographic Names Information System contains information about physical and cultural geographic features of all types in the United States, associated areas, and Antarctica, current and historical, but not including roads and highways. The database holds the Federally recognized name of each feature and defines the feature location by state, county, USGS topographic map, and geographic coordinates. Other attributes include names or spellings other than the official name, feature designations, feature classification, historical and descriptive information, and for some categories the geometric boundaries. The database assigns a unique, permanent feature identifier, the Feature ID, as a standard Federal key for accessing, integrating, or reconciling feature data from multiple data sets. The GNIS collects data from a broad program of partnerships with Federal, State, and local government agencies and other authorized contributors. The GNIS provides data to all levels of government and to the public, as well as to numerous applications through a web query site, web map and feature services, file download services, and customized files upon request.
Description: Water Resource Inventory Areas (WRIA) for Washington State at 1:24,000 scale. WRIAs were formalized under WAC 173-500-040 and authorized under the Water Resources Act of 1971, RCW 90.54. Ecology was given the responsibility for the development and management of these administrative and planning boundaries. These boundaries represent the administrative under pinning of this agency's business activities. The original WRIA boundary agreements and judgments were reached jointly by Washington's natural resource agencies (Ecology, Natural Resources, Fish and Wildlife) in 1970.

Description: This layer is symbolized using the SOIL_EROSION_POTNL field from the SOILS data layer. Information for the SOILS data layer was derived from the Private Forest Land Grading system (PFLG) and subsequent soil surveys. PFLG was a five year mapping program completed in 1980 for the purpose of forest land taxation. It was funded by the Washington State Department of Revenue in cooperation with the Department of Natural Resources, Soil Conservation Service (SCS), USDA Forest Service and Washington State University.
Description: The ASPECT_30M layer is an aspect analysis derived from the DEM_30M digital elevation model. The DEM30 layer is a raster dataset depicting surface elevation covering Washington State (and beyond). The data was derived by resampling USGS 10-meter DEMS (Digital Elevation Models). All source data was scanned from the hypsography (contour) separate used in the publication of USGS 7.5 minute quadrangles, and is classified as LEVEL 2 DEM.
Description: The SLOPE_PERCENT_30M layer is a slope analysis derived from the DEM_30M digital elevation model. The DEM_30M layer is a raster dataset depicting surface elevation covering Washington State (and beyond). The data was derived by resampling USGS 10-meter DEMS (Digital Elevation Models). All source data was scanned from the hypsography (contour) separate used in the publication of USGS 7.5 minute quadrangles, and is classified as LEVEL 2 DEM.
