Description: The Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) manages 2.6 million acres of state-owned aquatic lands (SOAL). Management is in conformance with constitutional and statutory requirements (RCW 79.105.030). SOAL are managed to provide a balance of public benefits for all citizens of the state. These include: (1) Encouraging direct public use and access; (2) Fostering water-dependent uses; (3) Ensuring environmental protection; (4) Utilizing renewable resources. Generating revenue consistent with the law is a public benefit. DNR authorizes specific uses, authorization agreements, contracts, and leases by the public, private industry, and other governmental entities on SOAL. The ENC11 INTERIM POINTS layer is a representation of applications for use of SOAL, active use-authorization agreements, and historic/inactive agreements. It includes agreement information such as type, geographic location, business partner (leasee) name, time period, and local management. The ENC11 INTERIM POINTS layer is a work-in-progress; it is in development.

Description: This data set represents all non-aquatic lands owned by the State of Washington and managed by DNR for the benefit of the public, including state trust lands, NAP/NRCA lands, and other DNR managed lands.
Description: The Forestry Riparian Easement Program (FREP) is a voluntary program that reimburses landowners for the value of the trees they are required to leave next to streams, wetlands, seeps, or adjacent unstable slopes to protect fish habitat. The funding gives landowners flexibility to protect riparian areas within their tree farm and minimizes the risk of conversion to higher development uses.

Description: DNR, in coordination with The Nature Conservancy and Davey Consulting, conducted an assessment of land cover and priority planting locations for 77 communities in the Puget Sound Urban Growth Area and 7 other unincorporated areas across three counties: King, Pierce, and Snohomish. Data sources were sought across the board to analyze a variety of factors that can contribute to accessing tree canopy needs. Analysis included data sets from some cities in the Puget Sound area, US Department of Agriculture, and US Census Bureau. The resulting analysis found plantable areas in both public and private properties across the city.
Description: This ShoreZone theme shows the percentage of anthropogenic shoreline modification in each line unit. Information on other human features are also included in the attribute table, such as the number of docks, ramps, piers, and slips. Created from the main feature class szline of the Washington State ShoreZone Inventory.

Description: This data set includes forested parcels that fall under the category of "small forest landowners." In RCW 76.13.005, the Legislature recognized that a large portion of private forest and woodland acreage in Washington is owned by landowners with less than five thousand acres who are not in the business of industrial handling or processing of timber products (i.e. “small forest landowners”). Along with a range of benefits provided to society that include clean water, carbon storage, scenic qualities and wood products, properties owned by small forest landowners provide valuable habitat for salmon and many of the state's other fish, wildlife, and plant species. For more information, visit https://www.dnr.wa.gov/sflo.
Description: This data set represents those aquatic lands, including navigable lakes, rivers, streams, tidal areas, and marine waters, owned by the State of Washington and managed by DNR for the benefit of the public. In many areas, aquatic land ownership boundaries are dynamic and based upon water level data rather than surveyed lines. Ownership boundaries in this data set may be an approximate representation of water level data and not representative of actual boundaries. If you have questions regarding ownership at a specific location, please contact the DNR Aquatic Land Manager for the area: https://www.dnr.wa.gov/programs-and-services/aquatics.

Description: From the Snohomish River Basin 3 year Work Plan Update: "As part of the development of the habitat strategic framework, in the Plan, each of 62 sub-basins and nearshore areas was assigned to one of twelve Sub-basin Strategy Groups(SBSG), based on three main factors: basin location (geomorphic characteristics, land-use, role in supporting salmon life history stage), condition of watershed processes (hydrology, sediment, and riparian), and current and potential salmonid use. For each SBSG, the Plan has a unique hypothesis and tailored recovery strategy through the identification and prioritization of specific preservation and restoration actions.

Description: This layer shows Wilderness Areas within WRIA 7. Established by Congress through the Wilderness Act of 1964, "Wilderness" is a special land designation within USDA National Forests and certain other federal lands. These areas were designated so that an untouched area of our wild lands could be maintained in a natural state. For more information, visit https://parks.state.wa.us/144/Wilderness-Areas.

Description: This data set was developed as an information layer for the Washington State Department of Commerce. It is designed to be used as part of the Puget Sound Mapping Project to provide a generalized and standardized depiction of land uses and growth throughout the Puget Sound region. This map represents land uses, zoning abbreviations and zoning descriptions. Zoning data was collected in raster format and digitized by State Department of Commerce staff. The generalized depiction of intended future land use is based primarily upon 2012 zoning and 2010 assessor's records.
