snippet: This dataset was developed for the multi-criteria Geothermal Favorability Model of Washington State. These datasets were produced to assist in locating and developing moderate-to-high temperature geothermal resources in Washington State. The model is not meant to be used to locate areas for exploration on a site-specific basis, and should not be used at a scale greater than 1:250,000.

description: This raster dataset represents modeled relative geothermal potential in Washington State. The values provide a ranking of potential for the presence of a moderate-to-high temperature geothermal resource. The raster values are based on the combination of the heat potential and permeability potential models. The model is intended to highlight areas of elevated potential for the presence of moderate-to-high temperature geothermal systems. See the companion report (Boschmann and others, 2014) for detailed discussion of modeling and results.
