Name: Test Site

Display Field: TEST_NAME

Type: Feature Layer

Geometry Type: esriGeometryPoint

Description: This layer shows our interpretations of materials testing reports that were available at the time of analysis for each project area. Rock samples from test sites were analyzed at materials testing labs for strength and durability. The Los Angeles (LA) Abrasion and the Washington (WA) Degradation tests are two common methods that the aggregate industry uses to assess if an aggregate material will perform as needed for many aggregate products. For this study, the aggregate quality threshold requires a LA Abrasion test result of <30 percent and WA Degradation test result of >30 percent, as specified in the WSDOT standards for hot-mix asphalt. Testing results may be Pass, Incomplete Pass, Incomplete Fail, Partial Fail, or Fail depending on the results from these two tests. Sample material that breaks down too much during these tests result in a Fail or Partial Fail test result, while more durable material result in a Pass test result.
