This image service displays historical maps of floating kelp from surveys in 1911-1912. The surveys were led by George Rigg as part of a larger effort over the west coast of the US led by Frank Cameron for the US Department of Agriculture (Cameron 1915). The original large format maps were scanned, georeferenced, rectified, trimmed and assembled in this image service by the Washington State Department of Natural Resources.

This image service displays historical maps of floating kelp from surveys in 1911-1912 in the Washington State portion of the Salish Sea.
kelp_historical_1912
kelp", "floating kelp", "historical maps", "Salish Sea", "Puget Sound"
Image Service
Data", "Service", "Image Service", "ArcGIS Server

The georeferencing of the original map sheets is of limited accuracy. There are clear artifacts visible as slivers between map sheets and discontinuities in linear features that span sheets.

" }
